CoverHound, the unique online comparison site that provides consumers with a smarter way to compare, buy and manage their auto insurance, today announces a year-over-year growth in new written policies of 533%. The company, officially launched in 2010, helped more than 250,000 Americans in 2013 easily compare real insurance quotes suited for their specific needs, and at better prices.
The company also announces today that Keith Moore, formerly Chief Marketing Officer at CoverHound, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, taking over that position from Founder Basil Enan, who will continue to be heavily involved in the business and will remain as Chairman of the Board.
“Getting the right auto insurance coverage can be very confusing, with so many insurance carriers marketing to consumers about significant savings if they switch providers. CoverHound’s goal is to take the mystery and hassle out of insurance shopping, to give consumers a single destination for real, trusted insurance options at a great price,” says CoverHound CEO Keith Moore. “Today we have more than 500 people comparing real insurance quotes from CoverHound every day, proving that more and more Americans are taking the time to shop around for the right insurance and make more informed choices after thorough comparison shopping.”
Moore joined CoverHound in 2011 as its first independent member of the Board of Directors before joining the team full-time and being named Chief Marketing Officer in June 2013. Prior to joining CoverHound, Moore was President and Chief Operating Officer at Academix Direct. He was previously Chief Marketing Officer at iContact and General Manager and SVP at LendingTree.
“Our ability to attract such an accomplished marketer as Keith to our team back in June was a testament to how far we had come since launching our comparison service less than a year earlier,” says Founder Basil Enan. “He was brought in to help us scale and, thanks to the hard work of our whole team, we’ve done just that: more than quintupling the business in 2013. We expect even stronger growth in 2014 and having a seasoned entrepreneur like Keith at the helm will allow us to solidify our lead position in the rapidly growing insurance comparison space.”
CoverHound specializes in the online comparison user experience, ensuring that every part of the online process is straightforward, quick, accurate and more helpful than what has been previously available to consumers. No consumer data is sold to third parties, as the company prides itself on strict information security guidelines and being the single point of contact during the comparison shopping experience. The site also features dozens of helpful personal insurance articles to help shoppers get the information they need to select the best provider and coverage.
CoverHound is based in San Francisco with an additional office in Southern California and is made up of a dynamic group of insurance experts who work alongside marketing and usability pros to provide consumers an entirely new way to find what they need in auto insurance—all from the comfort of their own home, or even on their mobile device.
