With CoverHound’s awesome growth comes amazing new additions to the team. We’re very happy to introduce Anita Sathe, CoverHound’s own VP of Commercial Insurance.

We sat down with Anita to ask her some questions:

Where did you grow up, and what brought you to San Francisco?

I grew up in Mumbai, India - an amazing city that I love to this day! I came to Connecticut for grad school to study Math in 2002. I've lived in Seattle, Berkeley, and Manhattan before landing in San Francisco for my husband's job.

What’s the biggest difference between New York and San Francisco?

Ah, theres so much good humor on this, I don’t know what I can add. Most folks I have met in San Francisco have weekend plans outside of going to Sunday brunch, and partying hard on Friday and Saturday nights (which was often the case in New York City).

What do you do in your free time?

I am an avid backpacker, and love volunteering to help people that need it. Through both of these experiences, I have learned to appreciate life a lot more than I used to!

What is something that drives you crazy?

Dishonesty - I can take a lot of stuff, but I hate it when people are dishonest and untrustworthy!

If you won the lottery today, what's the first thing you would buy or do?

It depends on how big the lottery is. I wouldn’t change my current life for pretty much anything. I love my life the way it is right now. Oh, I may buy a place in San Francisco if the lottery is big enough. (we hear you, Anita!)

What's your guilty pleasure?

Dark chocolate anything...icecreams, chocolates, mousse, etc..

If you could go back in time to any day in history or time period, when would it be and why?

I have read a bunch about Indian history and civilization. I would love to go back to 5000 years ago when India was a center of learning, culture and arts, and one of the richest countries in the world.

Could you tell us more about your role at CoverHound?

I am responsible for starting our Commercial business - helping small business owners protect their businesses from unforeseen events.

How long have you been in the insurance industry?

Thirteen years now!

What brought you to CoverHound?

I was in San Francisco traveling east every week or so. I really wanted to be a part of the San Francisco startup culture and still stay focused on insurance. When CoverHound announced its plans to enter the Commercial insurance space, I reached out to Keith (CEO) and had a great conversation, and the rest is history. (we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out!)

Thank you for sitting down with us Anita. We’re looking forward to all the great things to come with you on board!
