It is my pleasure to introduce to one of our Insurance Advisor Team Leaders, Amber Bachman! She's been working at CoverHound for over 2.5 years and has been a key player on our team of insurance advisors. I sat down with Amber so that you could get to know her better, and here's what she had to say.
Where did you grow up, do you have any siblings, and what brought you to where you live now?
I grew up in Dana Point, CA - my favorite city still to this day. I LOVE the beach! I moved to Agoura Hills when I was 13 (sigh), when my stepdad relocated for work. I am the one and only, but I do have 15 cousins, so I never got bored as a kid. :)
What are your hobbies?
Crafting and wine tasting.
What's the best vacation you've ever been on?
Last summer I went to Europe (Paris, Bordeaux and London) with 20 of my family members. It was so amazing to experience with so many of my family members. I am a big fan of tropical locales, so the Cayman Islands was a close runner up. (sounds dreamy!)
What's something surprising about you?
I am fascinated/slightly obsessed with Mark Cuban and Marcus Lemonis. There's something about self-made billionaires that intrigues me.
If you had one last meal on this planet, what would it be?
A super rare steak and some red wine. (yummy!)
What's the last movie you saw at the theater? Favorite TV show?
The last movie I saw was Hail Cesar, but my favorite shows are Shark Tank and The Profit.
If money was no object, what car would you buy?
A fully restored 1967 Lincoln Continental Convertible.
If you had 2 weeks to go on an all expenses paid vacation, where would you go and why?
That is a tough question. I love to travel, so my bucket list is long, but Thailand and Japan are at the top of my list.
What's a perfect day for you?
A nice day at the beach with a good book. (Ditto!)
What brought you to CoverHound, and what motivates you to come to CoverHound every day?
I had been in the insurance industry for about 7 years, and I had always worked for small brokers, when I stumbled upon CoverHound. I loved that it was a startup, and they wanted to change the way we purchase insurance. I thought it was perfect, especially coming in when there were only a handful of us and watching the company grow to 87 employees and counting. My Coworkers are one of my favorite parts of the job - getting to work with such amazing people doesn’t happen very often. (I couldn't agree more!)
