The Types of Information Collected By CoverHound

The CoverHound website will pose questions to visitors as part of CoverHound's effort to find automobile insurance policies superior to their current policy. These questions will include items typically asked by automobile insurance providers such as zip code, age, years of driving experience, number of cars owned and/or driven, number of accidents, number of moving violations and the like. Further, in instances where the website visitor completes a "contact me" form, we will ask for that website visitor's name and telephone number. Also, in limited circumstances we may collect a visitor's email address. CoverHound will retain all of the collected information described in this paragraph, and any other information voluntarily entered on the CoverHound website by a website visitor. Further, in instances where a website visitor's activities on the website lead them to call one of our automobile insurance providers, we will collect and retain their phone number.

Further, CoverHound will gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. These log files contain standard information collected by web servers, such as client IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), operating system, etc.. CoverHound uses this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the CoverHound website and to gather demographic information about its user base as a whole. CoverHound does not link this automatically collected data to Personal Information.

CoverHound also uses "Cookies", or small text files saved on your computer, in order to optimize your experience using our website. Cookies store information such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, and session ID. In addition, information you submit in our forms may also be stored.
