CoverHound Accelerates Growth With Key New Hires
Company Adds VP of Communications and Former CTO of Feedgen to Meet Growing Demand for its Car Insurance Rate Platform
SAN FRANCISCO -- August 23, 2011
CoverHound, the leading car insurance recommendation engine, announced today that it has expanded its team with the appointment of Josh Anish as the new Vice President of Communications and Keith Woody as Senior Software Engineer. The pair brings more than 12 years of product development and marketing experience to the CoverHound team, and will continue the company’s momentum in the car insurance vertical.
“Getting Josh and Keith is a fantastic win for our team,” said Basil Enan, Founder and CEO of CoverHound. “With Josh’s experience creating high-quality content and driving brand recognition and Keith’s expertise designing consumer-facing products in Ruby on Rails, CoverHound is even better positioned to delight users through the best car insurance search tool on the web.”
Anish brings more than six years of experience producing top-notch web content to his role as Vice President of Communications at CoverHound. Most recently, he was Senior Managing Editor at QuinStreet, where he was the lead editor in the Education vertical, responsible for the content strategy and budget of more than 100 proprietary sites. Prior to joining QuinStreet, Anish spent two years as the Senior Editor at Knewton in New York City, where he directed the content development teams on both the academic and marketing sides. He earned a BA from Amherst College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College.
“I’m thrilled to join the experienced team at CoverHound. The company has identified a large hole in the market and has even in these early days successfully alleviated customer stress as they shop for car insurance,” said Anish. “I look forward to further engaging users through dynamic content and features.”
As Senior Software Engineer, Woody will coordinate large-scale integrations with providers and agents to give users up-to-the-minute rates from multiple carriers. He will also help manage a second new engineer joining the team in late August. Prior to joining CoverHound, Woody was the CTO at Feedgen, an AngelPad company also headquartered in San Francisco. Consulting in Ruby on Rails for the past five years and working in web development for more than ten, he brings a broad range of experience and a love of software craftsmanship to the CoverHound development team. Woody earned a BS in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Says Woody: "It's exciting to join a team that feels like the perfect fit for my skills at a time when CoverHound is taking a major leap forward in the industry. CoverHound is already one of the best recommendation engines on the web, and is enthusiastically committed to aggressive innovation."
