2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK Diesel

Having diesel in the title may scare some prospective buyers off, but you don't have to worry as the 200 horsepower Mercedes GLK won't let you down. With a 4-cylinder engine that puts out plenty of torque, the GLK is able to get up to 33 miles to the gallon on standard highways.

2014 Buick Encore

Buick is not known for their SUVs, so they were sure to make the Encore one of the best. The Encore is a bit smaller than standard a SUV, but it is able to get up to 28 miles per gallon and comes equipped with top-notch safety features like 10 airbags and a rear cross-traffic alert system.

2014 Nissan Rogue

You won't have to worry about this Nissan model going off on its own. The seven-passenger Rogue is able to get up to 28 miles and comes with an EZ Flex seating system that makes sure you can fit all your passengers and gear.

2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

There can be only one and this Toyota model is it. Built with a 3.5-liter V6 gas engine, the Highlander is able to do 28 miles to the gallon and can seat up to 8 people. Along with being a fuel efficient model, the Highlander's interior is 30 percent quieter than other Toyota models, thanks to a more upscale design.

2014 Mazda CX-5

Mazda has turned out a fine line of SUVs, but the CX-5 comes with a litany of options you are going to love. Infused with a 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission, the CX-5 can get up to 29 miles to the gallon.

2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid

With a more rugged design than some of Subaru's other models, the XV Crosstrek will be able to get you where you need to go without wasting gas. The Crosstrek can muster up to 31 miles to the gallon and, with its hybrid systems, you won't have to worry about hurting Mother Earth.
